A Great Sign
In the Bible, one of the signs that Jesus will return is a great sign in the sky. The light from this sign will be seen all over the world. One possible sign of this would be a meteor shower. This might sound far-fetched and some would argue that it is, but there have been many documented sightings of these meteors before. In 2017, there were several documented sightings.
Another event that may take place before Jesus returns is a planet-wide earthquake or volcanic eruption. The volcano Kilauea on Hawaii has been constantly spouting lava for years and its eruption has been getting more violent by the day. It could come to an explosion any moment now, so people are trying to evacuate from their homes around it. So, just like with any other natural disaster, we should expect people to run for their lives when something like this happens during Jesus’s third coming. If a volcano erupts or there’s an earthquake as part of his return, you can bet that people will be running around everywhere trying to save their family members and themselves before they get buried under tons of rocks or ash while they escape the area.
The End of the Age
of the Church
It is widely believed that when Jesus returns, the church will no longer be needed. This is a good thing, because as more and more people are coming to know God through Jesus, there will be less and less need for the church. The church will not die out entirely, though; instead, it will shift from its current role as a religion focused on doctrine to one focused on spiritual experiences.
Signs in the Heavens
It seems that some prophecies show signs in the heavens. For example, if one looks up at the sky on February 24, 2022, they might see a red moon. This is because when Jesus returns to Earth, he will lead his army of saints and angels into battle on this day. The armies of heaven will fight against the armies of hell on the side of God’s chosen people: mankind. The armies of heaven are led by Michael and Gabriel. These two beings emerge from a huge cloud (the Ark) and fight for Jesus in the battle to defeat Satan’s forces.
Another sign that some believe will be present before Jesus returns is a comet in Earth’s orbit. It usually takes thousands of years for comets to come around again, so it’s no surprise that they haven’t been seen recently. However, if one looks up on January 1st or 2nd in 2022 but doesn’t see a comet near Earth, they might wonder what happened to it!
A “Day of Vengeance”
On the day of his return, Jesus will bring with him a “Day of Vengeance” in which he will destroy the Antichrist and all of his followers. This is not to say that there won’t be any Jews or Christians left.
Some believe that when Jesus returns, this Day of Vengeance will occur on Yom Kippur. This would be a great day for everyone to ask for forgiveness for their sins and receive God’s mercy.
Jesus Returns to Earth As King of Kings and Lord of Lords
One of the most popular prophecies is the idea that Jesus will return to Earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This particular prophecy speaks about how Jesus will conquer all of creation, defeating Satan and his army.
The Bible says in Revelation with respect to this prophecy, “And I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the abyss and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years” (Rev 20:1).
A thousand years sounds like an incredibly long time but it’s worth noting that a thousand years is only 6 days according to the Bible. So it would seem that when Jesus returns to Earth in 2022 as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, we should expect him to be quite busy there for six days. If we put our faith in God now and expect him to come knocking on our door soon after his arrival on Earth, maybe we’ll live through this perilous time without too much trouble.
